Rocket Man

For Father's day, Mark received some rockets, so for Family Home Evening we went over to the school/park to launch them.  It was a pretty big area, but the engines were pretty powerful.
 Getting ready for the launch.
First try. . . The wind carried it pretty far.  We spent most of our time looking for lost rockets.  They were real hard to follow once they started to descend and the wind carried them farther than we realized.  Mark, Dani and Sam found it at the nearby golf course after a half hour of looking.
Jo keeping occupied with rocket number 2 while he waited.
Try #2.  This time we tried to shoot the rocket against the wind hoping it would find itself descending back toward us.  I think we overcompensated just a little.  After looking for quite sometime, we never did find it.  Our guess is that it ended up in a nearby farm.  Finally try #3 brought the rocket closer to our location, although it ended up on a roof.  Daddy put Taylor up to retrieve it, but she wouldn't come back down for fear of falling.  Eventually she was coaxed.
While everyone was distracted, Jo got ahold of Dani's camera and had a hayday taking pictures.
